This cleverly designed teapot prevents the number one mistake in tea: over-brewing the leaves. It has an upper chamber with a filter and a lower chamber or pitcher. The upper chamber is made with plastic that is food grade PC (Polycarbonate), with temperature resistance up to +130℃ (+266℉), the same materials used to make baby bottles. The lower chamber is made with direct fired beaker glass with 150℃ (302℉) transient temperature difference resistance.
Brew the tea in the upper chamber. Once brewing is complete, press a button and the brewed tea drains to the lower chamber from where it can be poured for consumption at the desired time. The upper chamber can also be removed leaving the lower chamber to serve as a pitcher. The sizes listed are for the empty pitcher (500 ml and 1000 ml). The brewing chambers are 250 ml and 350 ml respectively. So multiple brews can be combined in the pitcher for serving larger groups, while the actual brewing remains at gongfu cha sizes. Use this pot to brew the same leaves as often as you like before discarding them.
