Happy Face Lemon Black Tea

5 tea-filled lemons, ~50 grams, per pack.

Many tea lovers enjoy adding lemon to their tea for that bright citrus flavor note. These tea-filled baby lemons are a super fun way to have it all in one cup. One filled lemon can be brewed many times. Invite some friends for a truly unique tea experience!

Single origin tea from Yunnan (Dian Hong black tea) is stuffed in a dried hollow lemon (harvested in Sichuan), blending the two flavors. The carving of the happy face, while adorable, serves a functional purpose of quickening the infusion of the tea. This tea is zesty, lemony, refreshing, and equally delicious whether prepared iced or hot.

To brew, unwrap the lemon and add to your teapot.  Pour hot water over it, then discard after 10 seconds. Brew with boiling water for 2-3 minutes, depending on preference. If you like a more lemon-forward tea, keep the lemon intact, and allow the tea flavor to be extracted over several brews. If you prefer a stronger tea flavor, with a hint of lemon, crack the lemon head open before brewing, allowing all of the loose leaf tea to be exposed to the water.
