We named this tea after tasting it. As a young raw Pu-erh, it has a lot in common with Chinese green tea, including a fresh savory quality. Like grass, it is soft and flexible, but it still has an edge. That faint metallic quality of new sheng Pu-erh, which turns into sweetness in the mouth.

This tea comes from the same forest farm on Nannuo Mountain as our Forest Magic, the same 2026 harvest. The difference lies in the sorting of the leaves. Forest Magic highlights the older tea trees, while Blades of Grass is composed predominantly of newer growth. Two teas for different moods.

This tea comes in a 100 gram compressed tea cake. The fresh new leaves are loosely pressed, so it can be broken by hand, or you can use a tea pick (or even a butter knife). Insert the knife into the outer edge of the cake and gently pry back and forth to loosen the leaves. If you're new to Pu-erh, or not ready for a full cake, we also offer 50 gram bags of already broken down leaves.
