“Perfect wisdom pierces all delusion, like a diamond.”
These leaves carry the aroma of honeysuckle, a foreshadowing of what is to come. The tea itself has a bite up front; a sharp grassy edge with a metallic undercurrent. But that sharpness is quickly transformed into a mellow honey sweetness. The energy of this tea manifests in the feel of honey coating the mouth and tongue. A rare Yellow Tea that cuts through the noise and the clutter of life.
Yellow Tea is the sixth type of tea, very rare outside of China. Yellow tea is processed like green tea, but it undergoes an additional step: 悶黄, men huang - ‘smothering yellow’, in which the leaves, still warm from sha qing, are wrapped in bundles.
The men huang step on this tea is carried out by Tea Master Wang Xiang Zhen, who learned the technique from her mother, and is passing it on to her daughter in turn.
